Welcome wedding planner Sarah Meduna of Styled in White Events. Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge to every wedding she touches, along with a warmth and kindness that instantly puts people at ease. We’re excited for you to get to know her a little more.
Q: What is your planner or designer superpower?
A: The most important and integral piece of my process as a planner and designer is the depth of the relationship I create with my clients. As their wedding planner, I see it as my job to serve them in the best and most personal way possible. To me, there is no better way to do that than to dig into their personalities, memories, and what makes them tick both individually and as a couple. I go narrow and deep rather than wide and shallow. I become a true partner in the process because I take the time to know my clients and their families thoroughly. I am able to fully anticipate their needs and design in an intentional, deeply personal way. Guests walk into the room and say, “Wow, that is so them!” Brides and grooms walk in and say, “This is totally us.” At the end of the day, that is what it is all about for me. I love creating beautiful things, but they mean nothing without the people and their stories. Planning and designing a wedding is a tangible way to bring a couple’s love to life.
Q: What inspires you outside of weddings?
A: In terms of design, I am incredibly inspired by art, culture, and history. I have a deep love for architecture and enjoy traveling to gain insight into how people live and celebrate. If I had to choose just one place that inspires me most, it would most definitely be New York City. New York has an energy unlike anywhere else in the world. It is a true melting pot of culture, food, history, art — you name it, New York has it (and usually in a very authentic way). It is a place where anything is possible and where people are not afraid to push limits and do something different.
