After photographing weddings at the Joslyn Art Museum for many years, the new addition is a refreshing and exciting transformation. The incredible 42,000-square-foot pavilion seamlessly connects the museum’s historic Art Deco building with the Scott Pavilion, creating a campus that feels both iconic and contemporary.
While scouting the museum for an upcoming wedding, we also spent time exploringThrough the Lens: American Photographs from the Carter Collection. It was an incredibly inspiring to see the work of photographers we have admired for years, including Alec Soth, Gregory Crewdson, Ansel Adams, Laura Gilpin, William Eggleston, Eliot Porter, and many others. The exhibit was a highlight of our visit. Seeing these iconic photographs in person offered a fresh appreciation for the artistry behind each image and for photography’s remarkable ability to remain relevant and meaningful across generations.
Joslyn Art Museum stands as one of Omaha’s most iconic wedding venues. With endless opportunities for portraits, beautiful ceremony locations, and inviting spaces for cocktail hour, it offers a truly unforgettable setting. The combination of historic architecture and modern design creates a unique backdrop for every part of the wedding day, from timeless portraits to elegant guest experiences. With thoughtfully designed indoor spaces that provide a seamless rain plan, couples can celebrate with confidence knowing their day will be beautiful no matter the weather. If creating an exceptional guest experience is a priority, it’s hard to imagine a better venue.
